Basketball Recap: Crystal River Pirates vs. Tavares Bulldogs
Crystal River won the last time they faced Tavares and things went their way on Saturday too. The Pirates came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 62-53. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crystal River to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jake Yost, who posted 26 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Crystal River was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tavares only posted one.
Tavares' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ezekiel Perez, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 16 points. Ackeem Byfield also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.
The victory got Crystal River back to even at 2-2. As for Tavares, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crystal River will welcome Nature Coast Tech at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tavares, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Citrus at 7:00 p.m. The contest will give the Bulldogs their first taste of in-conference action this season.
