Basketball Recap: Pendleton Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Pendleton and Christ Church Episcopal squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Pendleton had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 66-37 loss at the hands of the Cavaliers. The Bulldogs were down 48-26 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Pendleton's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexis Mattress, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 16 rebounds. Mattress is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last 13 games she's played. Cayleigh Fiocchi was another key player, putting up seven points.

Pendleton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Christ Church Episcopal, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.

Pendleton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Christ Church Episcopal, they will head out on the road to square off against Chapman at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something the Cavaliers surely won't give up without a fight.
