Basketball Recap: Example Academy National Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Example Academy National). They blew past the Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors 84-52 on Wednesday. The Eagles' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Zephyrhills Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Terrika Bellanger, who went 5-for-12 on her way to 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Bellanger is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Miller, who posted 11 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Example Academy National's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Example Academy National will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Catholic at 3:35 p.m. on the 13th. As for Zephyrhills Christian Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 43-40 win against DeLand on the 27th.
