Football Recap: Adams City Comes Up Short

Adams City extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-7. They were beaten by Broomfield 74-0. Adams City was not able to make up for their loss to Broomfield from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Broomfield, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.7 points on average this season.

Broomfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Matthew Merilatt led the charge by throwing for 143 yards and three TDs on perfect 5-for-5 passing. Another rusher making a difference was Kashus Clarvoe, who rushed for 77 yards and one score.

Adams City wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 68-0 defeat against Riverdale Ridge on the 16th. As for Broomfield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 56-20 win against Grand Junction Central on the 17th.
