Baseball Recap: Slocomb Drops Highest Score of Season Against Ashford

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Slocomb). They blew past the Ashford Yellowjackets 19-1 on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Red Tops in their matchups with the Yellowjackets: they've now won three in a row.

Wyatt Reeder was incredible, scoring four runs while going 2-for-3. He has become a key player for Slocomb: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayes Hatton, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Slocomb now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Ashford, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Slocomb beat Ashford by a score of 19-1 later that day.
