The Columbine Rebels will challenge the Grandview Wolves at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. Columbine is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
Columbine is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Valor Christian with a sharp 12-2 victory. Considering the Rebels have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Addison Swenby tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Abraham, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Nina Vargas was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.
Columbine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in eight consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Grandview, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past Chatfield 5-4. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won three in a row.
Grandview gave Christi Birx the start and clearly made the right call: she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Birx has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Grandview let Monroe Donaldson and Sasha Kennedy run wild. Donaldson went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Kennedy went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Kennedy has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Jaramillo, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Grandview's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Columbine, their win bumped their record up to 20-5.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Columbine hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .414. However, it's not like Grandview struggles in that department as they've averaged .365. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Columbine came out on top in a nail-biter against Grandview in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, sneaking past 7-6. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Wolves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
