Eagle River had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Bettye Davis East Anchorage Thunderbirds. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now won five in a row.

Eagle River saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Jones, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
