Basketball Recap: Out-Of-Door Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Out-of-Door Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against the Cambridge Christian Lancers by a score of 54-45 on Tuesday. This was payback for the Thunder, who suffered a 38-34 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Out-of-Door Academy found their leader in freshman Dawson Erdei, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 15 boards. Logan Kwon was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Out-of-Door Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cambridge Christian only pulled down eight.

Cambridge Christian's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ian Jansen, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 boards. Jansen is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Martinez, who went 6-for-12 en route to 17 points.

The win got Out-of-Door Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Cambridge Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Out-of-Door Academy has already played their next contest, a 59-40 victory against Sarasota Military Academy on the 3rd. As for Cambridge Christian, they will square off against Shorecrest Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
