It was a good run, but Bishop Blanchet unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Seattle Academy Cardinals. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 52-34.

Bishop Blanchet's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 15-1 and their overall record down to 17-2. As for Seattle Academy, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Bishop Blanchet won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ballard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Bishop Blanchet has won ten straight at home dating back to last season, while Ballard won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Seattle Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
