Austin is 9-1 against Bob Jones since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Black Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Austin is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Huntsville just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 21-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. Despite 53 more yards than the Panthers, the Black Bears couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite their defeat, Austin saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Qadir Lyle, who threw for 323 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt, was perhaps the best of all. The Black Bears' leading receiver Alvin Jones was Lyle's top target yet again, picking up 149 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Bob Jones didn't have quite enough to beat Sparkman on Friday and fell 29-26. That's two games in a row now that the Patriots have lost by exactly three points.

Bob Jones' loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Austin, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-2.
