Basketball Recap: Highland Park Comes Up Short

Highland Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grand Prairie Gophers. The Scots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gophers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Highland Park's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Grand Prairie, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Coming up, Highland Park will take on Liberty in a tournament on Thursday. As for Grand Prairie, they will be taking part in a tournament against Trinity Leadership at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
