Football Recap: Olathe West Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win + How To Watch

Olathe West had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Shawnee Mission North Bison with a sharp 63-42 victory on Thursday. The Owls' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Olathe West got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brody Hale out in front who threw for 273 yards and four TDs while completing 86.4% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Hale a new career-high in passer rating (165.3). Sam Krzykowski did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 140 receiving yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Olathe West's defensive line and their six sacks. Shawnee Mission North's QB won't forget Cash Warren anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Warren is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season. Another thorn in Shawnee Mission North's side was Tanner Buster, who forced one fumble and made 11 total tackles.

The victory was the sixth in a row for Olathe West, bringing their record up to 8-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.8 points over those games. As for Shawnee Mission North, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
