Baseball Recap: Springtown Takes a Loss

Springtown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mansfield Timberview Wolves. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Porcupines have suffered since May 9, 2024.

Kyle Litzman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Kirk, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Springtown's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mansfield Timberview, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springtown will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Graham at 7:00 p.m. on February 17th. As for Mansfield Timberview, they will challenge Molina at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
