Preview: Manor New Tech vs. Taylor Ducks
Manor New Tech is 0-3 against Taylor since November of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Manor New Tech will be home for the holidays to greet the Taylor Ducks at 6:15 p.m. The timing is sure in Manor New Tech's favor as the squad sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Taylor has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
After soaring to 78 points the game before, Manor New Tech were a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 54-14 loss at the hands of Giddings. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Manor New Tech has scored all season.
Taylor has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 27 points or more this season. They took their game at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 76-12 victory over Austin Achieve. With that victory, Taylor brought their scoring average up to 51.2 points per game.
Taylor's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Asia Zachary, who scored 14 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Tiana Candee, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Manor New Tech's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Taylor, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Manor New Tech was dealt a bruising 64-16 defeat at the hands of Taylor in their previous meeting back in January. Can Manor New Tech avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
