Volleyball Recap: Royal Oak Comes Up Short

Royal Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Athens Red Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Ravens of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While Royal Oak was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Athens' winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-18, 28-26.

Royal Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Athens, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Royal Oak will face off against rival Seaholm at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Athens is set to take on their familiar foe Groves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
