Softball Preview: East Ridge Knights vs. Harmony Longhorns

East Ridge has gone a perfect 3-0 against Harmony recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The East Ridge Knights will square off against the Harmony Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. East Ridge will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Tuesday, East Ridge got the win against South Lake by a conclusive 9-2. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by six runs or more this season.

Sariah Espada spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.

On the hitting side, East Ridge let Lelia Bolden and Veronica Peterson run wild. Bolden scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Peterson scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Bolden is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stole at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Amberlynn Collins also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, everything went Harmony's way against Innovation on Wednesday as Harmony made off with a 12-2 win.

McKenzie Whitehouse looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Harmony got a massive performance out of Emerson Aslan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three runs. Another player making a difference was Haley Diaz, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

East Ridge's record now sits at 4-0. As for Harmony, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

East Ridge took their win against Harmony when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Ridge since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
