Basketball Game Preview: Hanover Wildcats vs. Lakeside Knights

The Hanover Wildcats will square off against the Lakeside Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Hanover's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine games.

Hanover took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 57-31 margin over Doniphan West. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Mustangs are ranked 301st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lakeside was able to grind out a solid victory over Sylvan-Lucas on Friday, taking the game 62-53. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Lakeside pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points over those games. As for Hanover, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

Everything came up roses for Hanover against Lakeside in their previous matchup back in March of 2015, as the team secured a 75-37 win. Will Hanover repeat their success, or does Lakeside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
