Baseball Game Preview: ALA - Anthem South Titans vs. Horizon Honors Eagles

The ALA - Anthem South Titans will venture away from home to face off against the Horizon Honors Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. ALA - Anthem South has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with seven straight losses, while Horizon Honors will come in with three straight victories.

ALA - Anthem South came up short against Tempe Prep on Thursday, falling 13-1.

Meanwhile, Horizon Honors got the win against Camp Verde on Friday by a conclusive 12-3. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Horizon Honors got a great performance from Mason Palmer as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Palmer has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Horizon Honors' win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Andrews, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits Andrews has posted since back in March of 2024. AJ Miller also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Horizon Honors kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Horizon Honors' record now sits at 11-4-1. As for ALA - Anthem South, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
