Football Game Preview: Sterlington Panthers vs. Loreauville Tigers

The Sterlington Panthers will face off against the Loreauville Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Sterlington sitting on six straight wins and Loreauville on eight.

Sterlington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 71-26 victory over Donaldsonville. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 34 points or more this season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Xavier Stromile and Tj Burch. Stromile rushed for 108 yards and four TDs on only ten carries while Burch rushed for 147 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries. Those 108 rushing yards gave Stromile a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Parks-Smith, who rushed for 88 yards and one score on only ten carries.

Sterlington was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 485 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Sterlington, racking up 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of David Hickman, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Loreauville had just enough and edged out Church Point 42-39 on Friday.

Sterlington's record is now 9-2. As for Loreauville, their record now sits at 9-3.
