Volleyball Recap: Neodesha Extends Winning Streak to Six

Neodesha waltzed into their contest on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Fredonia Yellowjackets by a score of 2-0. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 2-0 victory back in September.

Neodesha never let Fredonia on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-9.

Brooklyn Newland paced Neodesha's offense, picking up nine kills. Newland got some help from Kimmy Combs and her 15 assists. Finally, Newland was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Neodesha's win bumped their record up to 32-6. As for Fredonia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-27-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, Neodesha and Fredonia will both be playing Collegiate the next time they take the court. The Blue Streaks will host the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Yellowjackets will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
