Basketball Recap: Verona Comes Up Short

Verona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 76-32 loss at the hands of the Greenwood Blue Jays. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 506th, while the Blue Jays are ranked 189th).

Verona's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Greenwood, their win bumped their record up to 15-7.

Looking ahead, Verona won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wheaton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenwood, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Crane at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
