Volleyball Game Preview: Mesa Vista Trojans vs. Escalante Lobos

Mesa Vista is 1-9 against Escalante since November of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Trojans are taking a road trip to face off against the Lobos at 5:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Mesa Vista lost 3-0 to Mora on Tuesday.

Mesa Vista was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Escalante came up short against Questa on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Lobos have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-13, 25-18.

Escalante's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Mesa Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Mesa Vista was able to grind out a solid victory over Escalante when the teams last played on October 9th, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
