Basketball Game Preview: Benicia Panthers vs. Las Lomas Knights

The Benicia Panthers will venture away from home to face off against the Las Lomas Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, everything went Benicia's way against Concord as Benicia made off with a 44-22 win. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Las Lomas, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Foothill by a score of 56-46 on Saturday.

Benicia better focus on containing Kimiko Hirahara and Aisha Sandhu as the pair were huge in Las Lomas' win. Hirahara posted 18 points and six steals, while Sandhu went 6 of 15 en route to 18 points. Hirahara is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Milla Hansen, who scored four points and 13 boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Benicia and bumps their season record up to 13-6. As for Las Lomas, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Benicia didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Las Lomas in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 34-29 win. Does Benicia have another victory up their sleeve, or will Las Lomas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
