Soccer Game Preview: Paul VI vs. Cherokee

The Paul VI Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Cherokee Chiefs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Paul VI will be strutting in after a victory while Cherokee will be coming in after a loss.

Paul VI is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They came out on top against Camden Catholic by a score of 5-3 on Monday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Paul VI's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Cherokee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Moorestown. The match was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Cherokee couldn't quite close it out.

Cherokee's loss dropped their record down to 5-4-2. As for Paul VI, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-5.

Paul VI couldn't quite get it done against Cherokee in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 4-2. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
