Doniphan-Trumbull piles up the points against Ravenna

The Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 82-40 win over Ravenna on the road. Doniphan-Trumbull might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Doniphan-Trumbull's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaedan Detamore, who scored 11 points along with six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jack Poppe, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.

The victory (which was Doniphan-Trumbull's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Ravenna, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Doniphan-Trumbull will take on Grand Island Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grand Island Central Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Doniphan-Trumbull is ranked seventh). Ravenna won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wood River at 7:45 p.m. on January 5th. Wood River is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
