Basketball Recap: Ridgway Falls to Non Varsity Opponent in First Game of Season

Ridgway unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 44-23 to Non Varsity Opponent on Tuesday. The Demons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Non Varsity Opponent apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Ridgway still got an impressive performance from Sophia Scranton, who posted six points in addition to eight rebounds and seven steals. Scranton has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 22 times she's played.

Ridgway wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-16 victory against De Beque on the 5th. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they have also already played their next matchup, a 27-14 defeat against Union Hill on the 2nd.
