Basketball Recap: Dayspring Christian Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against Front Range Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dayspring Christian Academy). They enjoyed a cozy 53-39 win over the Front Range Christian Falcons on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Dayspring Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Max Krehbiel, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 18 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Krehbiel has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Mcclanahan, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 boards.

Front Range Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zach Woo, who posted 14 points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds. Woo is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jonah Freburg, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards.

Dayspring Christian Academy's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-5. As for Front Range Christian, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Dayspring Christian Academy will square off against Estes Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Estes Park is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.7 points per game this season. As for Front Range Christian, they will take on Denver Jewish Day at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
