Basketball Recap: Isaiah Hunter Key Part of Team Effort in Chargers Win + How To Watch

Cox Mill won the last time they faced Northwest Cabarrus and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Chargers came out on top against the Trojans by a score of 61-51.

Cox Mill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaiah Hunter led the charge by putting up 13 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Those six assists gave Hunter a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Malachi Shipp, who posted nine points and five boards.

Cox Mill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Northwest Cabarrus lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aiden Rochevot, who scored 15 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Mason Long was another key player, earning ten points and five boards.

Cox Mill's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cox Mill will welcome Mount Pleasant at 7:30 p.m. on the 3rd. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on West Cabarrus at 7:30 p.m. on the 5th.
