Volleyball Recap: Nadia Mithqal's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Monticello over Wilson Memorial + How To Watch

Monticello and Wilson Memorial squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Monticello had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Green Hornets. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Green Hornets: they've now lost four in a row.

Monticello took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-18, 26-24.

Monticello's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nadia Mithqal, who had 15 digs and two aces. Mithqal is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last 15 games she's played.

Monticello's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Wilson Memorial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Monticello does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wilson Memorial, they are taking a road trip to take on Turner Ashby at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
