Softball Game Preview: Braddock Bulldogs vs. Ferguson Falcons

The Braddock Bulldogs will challenge the Ferguson Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Braddock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.5 runs per game this season.

Ferguson is facing Braddock at the wrong time: Braddock suffered their first home loss of the season on Thursday and they're likely out for redemption. They lost 13-2 to the Falcons.

Braddock saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Cancio, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Ferguson suffered their closest defeat since March 13th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lourdes Academy by a score of 8-6.

Ferguson also got a good showing from Ashley Barroso, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits Barroso has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Briana Canahuate made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Andreaneliz Rivera was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Ferguson's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Braddock, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Braddock has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .562. However, it's not like Ferguson struggles in that department as they've averaged .523. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Braddock took their victory against Ferguson in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 14-8 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
