Basketball Recap: Riki Mcquarters Key Part of a Team Effort in Chieftains Win

There's no place like home for Sapulpa, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They strolled past the Bartlesville Bruins with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 55-41. The Chieftains have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bruins, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sapulpa to victory, but perhaps none more so than Riki McQuarters, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. McQuarters' evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lou Chaney, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points and three steals.

Sapulpa's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-6. As for Bartlesville, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-2.

Sapulpa will take on Northwest Classen in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bartlesville, they will welcome Enid at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
