Football Recap: Vallejo Comes Up Short

If Vallejo was feeling good fresh off their 56-26 takedown of Pinole Valley last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Redhawks were dealt a 56-0 loss at the hands of the El Cerrito Gauchos on Friday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Redhawks were not able to get on the board.

Julio Ramirez threw for 61 yards on ten of 18 attempts. Jevonte Hines was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards. On the ground, Keith Morris rushed for 30 yards.

Vallejo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for El Cerrito, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
