Softball Recap: Pottsville's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Pottsville had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 15-run drubbing they dealt Clarksville on Thursday. The Apaches blew past the Panthers 17-2. The Apaches might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Madison Kellar was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Another player making a difference was Madison Motley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBI.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Pottsville, bringing their record up to 13-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Clarksville, they dropped their record down to 2-17 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Pottsville will host Ozark at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Clarksville, they will venture away from home to square off against Paris at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
