The First Academy Royals's and the Lake Gibson Braves's match on Tuesday was close at halftime, but The First Academy Royals turned on the heat in the second half with 41 points. The First Academy was the clear victor by a 72-46 margin over Lake Gibson.
The First Academy found their leader in underclassman Max Simmons, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Julian Anderson, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
The First Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lake Gibson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The First Academy will take on Windermere Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Windermere Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Lake Gibson, they will head out on the road to face off against Ridge Community at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
