Volleyball Recap: Lodi Falls Despite Big Games from Jayden (Mac) Pilcher and Emilio Segovia

Lodi was the 3-0 winner over Lincoln when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Flames fell 3-1 to the Trojans on Tuesday. While the Flames didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 25-21 in the first set.

Lodi came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-23, 25-22, 26-24.

Lodi's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Emilio Segovia, who had 15 digs and two aces, and Jayden (Mac) Pilcher, who had eight digs and five kills. Pilcher is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had five or more in each of the last three games he's played. Erik De La Torre-Arias was another key player, getting 12 digs.

This is the second loss in a row for Lodi and nudges their season record down to 9-7. As for Lincoln, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.

Lodi has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Kimball on the 3rd. As for Lincoln, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against St. Mary's on the 3rd.
