Softball Recap: East Davidson Comes Up Short

East Davidson extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 10-8. They came up short against the Providence Grove Patriots, falling 12-2. That's two games in a row now that the Golden Eagles have lost by exactly ten runs.

As for Providence Grove, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games.

For Providence Grove's part, Campbell Ziemba spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. Ziemba has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Callie Lambert was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and six RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adi Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

East Davidson has already played their next game (against Piedmont Community Charter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Providence Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-1 defeat against West Davidson on the 29th.
