Baseball Recap: Palo Verde Valley Comes Up Short

Palo Verde Valley lost against Southwest EC on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Yellow Jackets lost 11-5 to the Eagles. The Yellow Jackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wesly Dill made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Troy Pellegrini was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Palo Verde Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10-1. As for Southwest EC, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season.

Palo Verde Valley will welcome Brawley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Yellow Jackets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Southwest EC, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Calexico at 7:00 p.m. on the 13th.
