Softball Recap: Webster County Trojans vs. Tates Creek Commodores
After low-scoring totals in their previous five contests, Webster County brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They put the hurt on the Tates Creek Commodores with a sharp 16-3 victory on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Chloe Papineau made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Webster County got a massive performance out of Alyssa Cartwright, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Looking ahead, Webster County will venture away from home to take on Lincoln County at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Tates Creek, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Bourbon County at 8:30 p.m.
