Basketball Recap: Mill Valley Starts Season with Victory at Home

Mill Valley took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They blew past the Lafayette Fighting Irish 84-27. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-16.

Reece Riedel went supernova, shooting 53% from the field on his way to 23 points and five boards. The contest was his third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Davis, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Mill Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Coming up, Mill Valley will take on Andover in a tournament on Friday. As for Lafayette, they will be taking part in a tournament against Olathe Northwest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
