Volleyball Recap: Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons Comes Up Short

Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it five. They lost 3-0 to the Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Wolves. The Golden Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

As for Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville, the win snapped their losing streak at four matches and leaves them with a 9-7 record. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0).

Brooke Trumble had another great game (as she tends to do), getting 22 aces, six kills, and one block. That's the most kills she has posted over her last eight contests.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons is set to take on their familiar foe Duanesburg at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville will face off against rival Fonda-Fultonville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
