Northwest Suburban recap October 1, 2013

Maple Grove added to the longest winning streak in Northwest Suburban this week by beating Anoka, 24-7. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Crimson.

Robbinsdale Armstrong fell to Park Center 44-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Blaine's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. *Alex Copa threw for 108 yards and Zach Wylie had 74 yards receiving. On the ground Nate Kroutil contributed 150 yards. Zach Baker helped Blaine's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 13 yards.

The Bengals' dynamic duo of Copa and Wylie proved to be unstoppable against Coon Rapids, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Baker helped Blaine's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 13 yards.

ZACH EENHUIS made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Tornadoes fell to Maple Grove. He.

Andover's Connor Wilkie and Chris Larson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Wilkie has thrown for 1,316 yards this season, while Larson, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 30 catches for 766 yards. Totino-Grace's Kez Flomo leads the league in rushing yards with 674.

The most important game in the league this week will be the match up between the Eagles and the Huskies. Totino-Grace enters the contest ranked 17th in the state, while Andover ranks 15th.

The league will see a high scoring game when Jeffrey Ferguson's team and Rich Wilkie's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Eagles comes in having scored 120 this season, while the Huskies have scored 166. Totino-Grace scored 28 points last week as it beat Elk River.

The Pirates led Northwest Suburban in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on the Falcons.
