Baseball Recap: Russell County Takes a Loss

Russell County suffered their closest defeat since March 29th on Monday. They fell just short of the Boyle County Rebels by a score of 6-4. The Lakers have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Russell County's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Boyle County, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

Russell County and Boyle County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. The Lakers will take on Somerset at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (31 vs. 96). Meanwhile, Boyle County (ranked 37th) will meet Garrard County (ranked 148th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
