Baseball Recap: St. Mary's Victorious

St. Mary took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Boulder Creek, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The St. Mary's Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Boulder Creek Jaguars 8-6. Eight seems to be a good number for the Knights as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on Jacob Del La Rosa, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Javier Romero, who scored three runs while going 2-for-5.

St. Mary's pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Boulder Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
