Soccer Game Preview: Marquez vs. Elizabeth

For the first time this season, Marquez will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will host the Elizabeth Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Marquez's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Marquez is headed into Monday's contest following a draw, the team's first since December 15. They and Warren finished up their match with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

Marquez's goal came courtesy of Matthew Velazquez, who's now up to nine this season.

Meanwhile, in Saturday's Canine Competition, Elizabeth didn't have enough. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was North Hollywood who was credited with the win two weeks ago.

Marquez's draw gives them a new season record of 6-3-2. As for Elizabeth, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.

Marquez beat Elizabeth 2-0 in their previous meeting back in February of 2025. Will the Gladiators repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
