Football Recap: Palm Beach Gardens Takes a Loss

Palm Beach Gardens extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 17-14 heartbreaker at the hands of the Seminole Ridge Hawks. The contest marked the Gators' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Palm Beach Gardens lost, don't look at Wilfred Coicou. Despite the final result, he rushed for 66 yards and one score on only five carries, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. Brandon Garland also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.

As for Seminole Ridge, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 6.5 yards per carry in those games compared to only 1.07 in the others.

Rasheed Lamar went supernova, rushing for 105 yards and one TD on only ten carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run. Caelin Argue also deserves some recognition as he rushed for his first rushing yards of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palm Beach Gardens will square off against Palm Beach Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Seminole Ridge, they will face off against Benjamin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
