Clay County Christian Academy faced Pineview Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles breezed past the Warriors to the tune of 74-36. The Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Brodie WATTS and Connor Sims. WATTS gained 232 total yards and five touchdowns while Sims gained 218 total yards and five touchdowns. Sims also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles.

Clay County Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 324 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 188 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Clay County Christian Academy's defensive line and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: WATTS, Sims, and C.J. Cates, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Clay County Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That lines up perfectly with their 4-1-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.3 points over those games. As for Pineview Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Coincidentally, Clay County Christian Academy and Pineview Christian will both be playing Marshall Christian Academy the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Warriors will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 16th.
