Basketball Game Preview: Wakefield Wolverines vs. South Garner Titans + How To Watch

The Wakefield Wolverines will face off against the South Garner Titans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Wakefield managed to slip by Southeast Raleigh the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wolverines came up short against the Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 58-34.

Meanwhile, South Garner took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southern School of Energy and Sustainability 73-38. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Titans had established a 22-point advantage.

South Garner's win came from a few key players Wakefield will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kimaya Barnes, who shot 50% from the field en route to 13 points and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 20 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Ballard, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.

South Garner smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 20 consecutive contests dating back to last season.
