Hueytown was the 59-54 winner over Gardendale when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The game between the Golden Gophers and the Rockets didn't end well, with the Golden Gophers falling 70-55. The Golden Gophers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hueytown lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aj Smiley, who posted 16 points. Mike Johnson was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to seven assists and seven boards.

Hueytown's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Gardendale, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Hueytown will be taking part in a tournament against Clay-Chalkville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gardendale, they will challenge Cullman at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
