The Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Cadets are taking a road trip to square off against the Carroll Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Carroll took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, who comes in off a win.
Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against East Noble, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cadets had just enough and edged out the Knights 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cadets have posted since April 27, 2024.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 18-25, 25-19, 19-25, 15-12.

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran found their leader in sophomore Aaron Linder, who had 14 digs. Those 14 digs set a new season-high mark for Linder. Evan Armstead also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.
Meanwhile, Carroll entered their contest against Homestead on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Chargers fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2.
Carroll took Homestead into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-17, 25-20, 17-25, 16-14.
Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran will have to keep a close watch on Dominic Bennett and Isaiah Trulock, a pair of players who had a big impact on Carroll's prior game. Bennett had 28 assists and 20 digs, while Trulock had 19 digs and one assist.
Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Carroll in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Cadets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
