Taylorsville hasn't had much luck against Cyprus recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Warriors will take on the Pirates at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Taylorsville's victory against Hunter wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Wolverines on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won six in a row.

Aleya Wegner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Megan Sterzer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyne Zapata, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contest, Cyprus brought some dynamite into their most recent match. They blew past Granger 19-3 on Tuesday. The Pirates' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Adelaide ( Addie ) Winn was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Calee Sharp, who went 2-for-4 with two triples and three runs.
Cyprus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Taylorsville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Cyprus, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-8 record.
Cyprus' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Taylorsville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .341. It's a different story for Cyprus, though, as they've only averaged .218. Will they be able to contain Taylorsville's hitters?
Taylorsville couldn't quite get it done against Cyprus when the teams last played back in March as they fell 8-4. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
